Last night, I watched for the first time this show: Nanny 911. I don't know if it is supposed to be a show for women, but I found it interesting for guys as well (especially since I am starting a family very soon and kids will eventually come one day Smiley ). I think it is helpful for new parents and it shows practical ways to raise your kids right and develop a normal relationship with them (even though you might have had a not so good start with them).

Does anyone else watch this Nanny show and agrees/disagrees with me? Are there any other shows that you find interesting and that you recommend? (not necessarily nanny related Smiley )

Funny that you're talking about family and children. I've just watched part of a show on.... I think it was National Geographic... where some women were keen on giving birth in nature - and filming the process.

One of the ladies was in labour for some 5 days. It must've been quite an experience for her, but i think it was for the husband as well. In the end she gave birth inside the house and they called two midwives for fear of any potential complications after such a long process.

Where I live, fathers are not traditionally present when the child is born -- it was the midwife's job and later on the doctor's. It was interesting to see how happy the guy was when he held his baby. He was so concentrated up to that point, but the moment they (the midwives) gave him the seconds-ago-born baby to hold, he was wearing such a huge smile on his face! Smiley

A strange thing was that an owl (or another owl-like bird) had been "singing" all this while. These birds really have a special sense when it comes to life and death events.

Anyway, I guess I recommend watching National Geographic. Grin

Now that you talked about that channel another show came in my mind: Cash Cab on Discovery Channel. I don't know why, but for some reason I take it as an interactive show (even though it is not) and I sit there on the couch trying ot answer the questions as fast as possible. Of course, I feel kind of bad when I realize I I wouldn't go too far if I were in that car Smiley
