I had my first job interview yesterday and I can't really tell if I did good or not because the people's faces didn't give me any feeling about that at the end of the interview. I kind of think that I wasn't exactly their ideal candidate, but in the same time I think there are some moments when I proved that I am (and I think they saw that).

First of all, I was interviewed not by one, but by four people, thing that I didn't expect. My main issue is the fact that I am a recent graduate and they kept on asking "what can you do?", question to which I gave them answers in curricular areas. They asked me if I worked on individual projects besides the ones that I had to do for school. I answered no, because I didn't, but is it that bad that I had to give that answer?

My main concern is about the thing the "main interviewer" said at the end when I asked if it's okay to call back to see how I did. He said "we have interviews for the next week or two so you may call in about two weeks". Is that a bad sign? And shouldn't they call me if I am on their "good candidates" list? The fact that I couldn't tell if they liked me or not is obsessing me. Are all companies like that, leaving you in suspense?

Hmm...  Undecided

Well, it would have been a plus to say that as a part time thing you've designed the software for one of the robots NASA sent to Mars. Tongue

Aren't they supposed to say "we'll call you!" and then never call if they don't want to? Maybe it's better this way though. They didn't say "we'll call you", but they will. Smiley

In all, what's done is done. All you can do now is wait, hope the other candidates did worse, and keep look for other job opportunities.

I hope that happens with them Grin and in the meantime I do keep on looking for more companies. I don't know if I should go to another interview before I know how I did at this one...

Good thing it is not the end of the world if I fail on getting that one job. Smiley
