I'm going to be switching to a new web hosting provider in the next month and, thanks to the many great posts and reviews that I've been searching through here on WHReviews and at webhostingtalk, I've narrowed my choice down to three -- HostGator, blueHost, and Lunarpages.  All three seem to have all the features I'm looking for and are all priced extremely well.  I've been researching their support history and have read lots of good things about all three of these providers.

So... I guess my question is:

Is there any reason I should pick any one of these providers over the other?  I'm looking for any advice that anyone here would like to offer before I take the plunge and transfer all of my files.  If you know of any "red flags" or anything I should be warned of before choosing any of the three I mentioned, please let me know.

Thanks for your time.  And thanks for maintaining such a great community here.  I've learned a lot from this site over the past couple of weeks, and wish I'd known about it before I chose my first/current provider.

Regards,

Ryan

Hmm.. it might be an interesting experiment to ask each host why you should pick them instead of the other two. Smiley

Please, DO NOT choose Bluehost.com.  I've been running my web on bluehost for about 6 months, and I got A LOT of server down problems.  I already found 5 instances of server down this month, and because of the yesterday's problem, I lost most of my tables in the database.

They told me they will restore my DB, but they didn't have any good backup files at all, and failed to restore. Now, I lost all the hard work that I made for the last 6 months.  Of course, I have made my own backups through their backup program, but it turned out that the zipped backup files contains no good DB backup. I found one article from another forum which has depicts same problem that I have. Their backup system is buggy!!

Their servers are not stable at all. I really regret that I chose bluehost.com.

I've been using hostgator for about 6 months now and overall am very happy with them.

Their live chat support reps are rarely very helpful with questions that go beyond the likes of how to setup email and that sort of thing. You are better off emaling their support team instead as you will get your answer much faster.

cheers

you should search webhostintalk or related forums for the reviews, theye are so many postive and at the same time so many negative reviews of these very 3 companies, so I am pretty sure that chooseing the one among them is going to be a real challenge, anyway good luck
