After hearing many very good reviews about Host Gator from webmaster friends, I decided that I should give it a try.

The company that I am currently working for is opening an online store.  We needed some hosting for it, so I figured that Host Gator was the place to go for hosting.

I went ahead and asked the manditory pre-sale questions, and was satasfied by all the answers, so I went ahead and signed up.  I immediatly opened a ticket requesting that my site be on a server that was PHP5 enabled.  I got a note back a few hours later saying that my request had been accomidated.  A quick check of phpinfo confirmed this, so I was a happy camper as I started uploading my files and configuring my site.

The other thing that I was told pre-sale, was that they would be able to install the pfpro module (that allows us to use Payflow Pro to handle credit card processing), no problem.  Just a small fee for installation, which I was OK with.  So I went ahead and authorized this, uploaded the module for them to install, and was then told a few days later that the module was in and I was all ready to go.

This was almost 3 weeks ago.  To this day, the pfpro module still does not work.  I have contacted their live support, and opened many tickets regarding this, and each time I am told that the module is in and running, yet I go and test the site, and it is not.

I am currently also developing 4 other sites for my company, which I was intending to host at Host Gator, however I've already started searching for a new host.  They really have not lived up to my expectations.

Hello Iceman90,

I'm sorry to hear you've had trouble getting things setup with HG.

It would be very odd if installing the module would be so hard for them to do properly. Are you sure there's nothing wrong with the script you're using or its installation?

MOD NOTE: Iceman90 has provided a domain hosted by Hostgator (via PM). Thank you Iceman90.

I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with my script.  The shopping cart script that I am using is a well known product, and the Payflow Pro module has been used successfully before.

I am still working with their tech support to try one last time to resolve this.

Please let us know how things work out.

My first guess when I read was the same as Dan's, that something might be wrong with the script. Hopefully the help that you are going to get from the tech support will make things work out for you.

I should post an update - I got everything resolved a while ago, and things are great now.  So much so, that I've purchase 2 other shared plans from this company.
