Any webhost at less than US$3.00/month with reliable services

I'm pretty new to the industry and was wondering what constitutes a good and reliable webhost?

Those webhost that are priced more than US$3/month is out as my budget doesn't allow.

Trying to keep costs low for an initial wordpress e-store.

With that budget, it's rather hard to recommend something that I've used. But a host that I've read good things about and could cost you little while you're just starting out and your usage is really low, would be nearlyfreespeech.net.

I am currently using 3ix.org which is quite ok for a budget host.. but I wasn't sure if its good enough for e-shop set up.

You probably are looking to host a small site with around 2gb of bandwidth. Look for the smallest host packages on hosts.

If you are looking for a shared small plan, then your budget is very good to find a reliable host.

You just to keep some points in your mind.

1. only consider hosts offering money back guarantee.
2. test support quality of a host by contacting them too often as reliable hosts always have quick answer time and friendly support.

since the thread has been resurrected, I think if you are pre-paying for 3 years to get a rate around $3-$4 per month you can find some decent hosts still. I think it is wise to read the overall sense of a hosts quality from various forums etc...  Speaking from my own experience, in terms of the larger hosts, hostgator really does have a pretty good operation going, decent support, decent speeds and quality. Of the big oversellers, they are probably the best one.

It can never be stressed to highly enough that nowadays, cheap web hosting plans does not necessarily mean poor quality and service. Check on the disk space allocation, bandwidth, security features, traffic flow, e-mail storage capacity, and the kind of multiple domain accounts.
