Its a crying shame that sometimes it takes a bad experience to get one to write about a host or service.
In Febuary 2005 I began hosting my website PrairieINK.com with sswebhost.com .The service package I signed up for was for one year of one of the reseller packages. The set up was quick and I had NO PROBLEMS whatsoever with them.Due to the quality of the service and up times I began to move many of my sites hosted elsewhere onto their server.
Then today 12th of August 2005 everything changed. At 9 am CST when I tried to sign into one of my sites to do some work, it didnt come up.I checked all my sites and sure enough none came up.I then tried their webite sswebhost.com and their affiliated website happysolutions.com.Neither site came up, I tried calling their toll free # numerous times.Never getting an answer or a reply to my messages.Being a Busisiness day DURING business hours this was unacceptable .Checking whois.sc i was able to track three server address #'s associated with sswebhost.two of three were associated with literally hundreds of websites all of which were dead.not one website was working.
as of now it is 5.40 pm cst -eight hours after I know for fact that the servers have been down-who knows how long before this they were down.No word from sswebhost on why the servers are down-still no answer of their phone line and still no servers being brought back up.
what was possibly a good host has turned out to be possibly a VERY BAD one that mismanaged its obligations to its customers.

If SSWebHost does come back up-let this be a warning.

Hello and welcome to WHRForums. I'm sorry to hear you're facing such a serious hosting issue.

At this moment in time I can reach PrairieINK.com, but I can't visit the site of the hosting company. Can you share some sites of yours that you have problems connecting to?

all sites are back up.and I am very releaved! I believe this was a an apparition-as I have had nothing but a positive experience from the company. Sometimes disasters happen that are out of a companies control. since today was a day I had dedicated to working and revamping it was quit upsetting-a whole days work shot out the window.
eight hours with a the site down made me think of all the horror stories of fly by night hosting rip offs- I do not think sswebhost is one of those-I am sure this was just one bad day and that they are a quality firm to work with.I will be sticking with them.

Yes, even the best hosts can have a bad day. Hopefully this was just a fluke and things will be stable for a long time to come.
