Do you prefer to deal with green or ordinary hosting provider?
Can you give any reasons?

Typically, "green" is a mere thin layer of paint over an otherwise regularly run company. All they mean is that they're buying carbon offsets, paying for green energy to be put back in the grid etc. They're greener, but not green, and there's usually no way for the customer to verify the claims, other than a small green certificate issued by who knows what organization.

So, I don't put weight on the green claims. But that may have to do with me not being big on eco-stuff (or at least that parts that are impractical and uneconomical).

However, many webmasters prefer to use green hosting service...

I must say that it mainly depends on the hosting provider and your specific requirements as well as budget.
When selecting cheap website hosting, be sure that the web host provider is trustworthy.

I pretty much agree with all of the above.
One of my main issues is the virtual lack of any verifiable proof on them being green.
