Optimizing for Social Media (SMO) is almost the same as the search engine optimization (SEO), the difference is that it's optimization not for search engines, but for social networking and blogs to attract traffic from there to a web site or form a community of interest within social network.

All the info you have defined here are effective for SMO.There are many social networking sites like Facebook,Twitter which also helps to get good visitors to your site. Promoting your site to such sites make it more popular and you will get high traffic from there.

It seems to me that term "Social Media Optimization" lacks technical specification. Out of integrating some apps that help website visitors to interact with a certain social media, there isn't much to do.
