Detroit Tigers, aren't they something!?

WOW! They won and they are now in the World Series (which should be called just US Series since no other country plays, but that is another story ). Everybody says now that they are going to lose against the Mets (which still have to qualify though), but hey, everybody, including me, said that they were going to lose against the Yankees too, and they didn't.

I am sorry for you Mike (cd-mchase) because after your post I was really hoping to have Red Sox and Detroit in the WS. Oh well, maybe next year.

Anyway, I am new in the baseball phenomenon, and I've been told that I picked quite a team to cheer for because they usually play really bad, so I am curious: are there any other Detroit Tigers fans around here?

My wife wouldn't let me...  I guess she doesn't want to get rich.

I'm kind of excited to see the Tigers now, on Saturday, when the World Series begins. Yesterday night their opponent was determined and that will be the Cardinals. They won over NY Mets, result that kind of surprised me, but I think they were better overall and they deserved to win.

Ok, I guess I got too excited too early... They just lost last night and the Cardinals won the World Series.

Too bad the whole Tigers team didn't manage to appreciate more what Casey and Guillen did. They were fantastic throughout the 5 games. I'm disappointed with Ordonez and Monroe because I expected more from them and they did nothing. Oh well, maybe next year.
