We've been dealing with eNom for just over 12 months (made the switch from godaddy once godaddy began soliciting all our clients for hosting)

the good:

-easy to use control panel
-super fast nameserver propogation
-complete integration with our control panel (hsphere)
-great customer service with fast, helpful responses

in the middle

- pricing - I neither list this as good or bad.  eNom requires deposits towards domain purchases, the more you deposit, the cheaper the price.  I think their price points make it tough for newer companies, and they are probably hurting themselves more then anyone (as they are scaring away some startups) - but, once the company is established and has a reasonable amount saved up to prepay for domains, they are as competitively priced as anyone in the market (including godaddy)

the bad

-Im actually quite disappointed with how eNom handles domain disputes.  This has only come up recently, however, one of our clients had their domain hijacked by their previous host.  It took alot of effort to get this domain name back.  even though they finally returned it to the rightful owner, they had all the information they required from the beginning to make the decision.

Hello Andrew and welcome to WHRF! Smiley

That's a very well balanced review. Thank you for taking time to write it.

Domain disputes are a very sensitive issue because on one side we have the owner who's eagerly waiting to get control over the domain, on the other the registrar who needs to make sure the decision is the right one. It doesn't really help though when the domain's owner states his case completely and the registrar stalls or fails to reach an obvious decision in a timely manner. There's a fine line between being carefull and being too slow. Smiley

Hi Dan,

Happy to be here and look forward to participating in your project ...

Regarding the dispute - obviously, I completely agree.  However, I have always thought that registrars need to go that extra step to protect their clients from fraud.  As long as they allow their resellers to countinue operating in this manner, these sorts of stories just wont go away - and it truely does affect us all in this industry...
