I would like to know what other webmasters think about the most reputable and accredited registrars.

What domain name registrar do you consider to be the best one?

Well, if market success is a sign of being the best, then the answer would be Godaddy. Smiley

Personally, I use Namecheap, and recall reading good things about Moniker. Not that there aren't plenty of registrars worth looking at.

Hello! I will recommend you Gandi and GoDaddy. Gandi as a registrar and host  offersd clean, simple, no bullshit service. It also offers a user friendly dashboard with tag based organization and search. GoDaddy has built a customer base by offering cheap package deals.

Domain registration is quite straight forward. If you know the technicality and just want a domain name, any registrar will do, preferably the cheapest one.

The choice comes in when registrar starts to bundle. That's how registrar tries to differentiate. It is not easy to find a purely domain registration only registrar these day. Most will try to distract with free this, free that and only after sign up do you realize that the free stuff functionality is rather limited.

I would say namecheap, dynadot are quite straight forward for direct buyer.

I suppose that there are tons of companies providing domain name registration services, but I would suggest you to deal with ICAN-accredited Domain Registrar in order to be 100% sure that your domains will not disappear.
