I think both offers have their role, and with proper research on the company, paying yearly can be reasonably safe.

Now, it all depends on the sums involved. I doubt anyone (of us regular folks, not billionaires) would feel OK paying yearly on their $300 a month dedicated server. Smiley

This depends on the amounts, the stability of the provider and your long range plans. I think once a provider has proved themselves, people are more prone to signing longer term agreements to take advantage of the discounts (or to lock in their price).

Monthly payments give wider freedom. While  annual billing unables changing the hosts as soon as you like without losses.

For small plan, there should be a yearly based payments so one does not have to bother to pay very little amount every week.

However, for Dedicated, VPS and big resellers, monthly payments are most preferred.

Where possible I pay monthly, many moons ago I used often pay yearly but I ended up burnt to many times.

So now where I can I pay monthly in the knowledge if anything goes pear shaped I will only lose a months worth of payments.

For the owner of the company it's better when a client pays for a year.

I can say that if you are not sure about the company you are planning to deal with, it will be reasonable to pay monthly and then get money back if you are not satisfied.

Will pay yearly only if there are significant discount >40%. Otherwise no reason to do that.
A subscription will takes care of monthly payment so it is not a problem at all.

I suppose that it will be secure to pay monthly instead of yearly.
If you are 100% sure in web host's reliability, you can pay yearly, as it will save you good sum of money.

it depends on , how you can manage , but if you need best services, and quality customer support then go with monthly, else yearly option is not bad though, if the company is trust able, and have quality customer support.
