Has anybody started thinking about buying presents/things for Christmas? I admit I don't usually do this, but this year I plan on being done with all the shopping ahead of time. I want to know how this feels like.

I am looking for ideas and any input will be appreciated. So far, the only things that came to my mind are perfumed candle, sweater and scarf. They are all common stuff, I know... I need to buy presents for all ages so children or elders are included in my shopping plans. Among the things I will buy I will have to buy things for my fiancee's siblings and parents, so those will need to be very well considered.

I'm open for suggestions.
Hehehe!

There was a recent thread over at HostingDiscussion.com about Christmas related spending, so you're not the only one who already has the Christmas in mind.

Frankly, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to presents, mainly because I'm not easily attacted by merchandise. I don't have many "wants" (as opposed to my better half), so for me it usually comes down to whether I need the thing or not. When shopping I ask myself the same question: does he/she need this?
I can tell you something though: It's very hard to find presents when the criterion you use is "Is this needed?"

I find that an easy way out with ladies is to buy them some cosmetics, perfumes and the like. With the guys some type of alcoholic beverage can do the job, provided that they have the necessary age. (No, one beer doesn't do it.

)
A cool pen, a watch, can also make nice presents. Giving toys for young adults can be sometimes a funny farse, yet a memorable present at the same time.
Objects that are generally thought to be "souvenirs" can presents as well. Clothes and jewellery (God forbid you tell my girldfriend I mentioned this

) should be good as well.
