Has anybody started thinking about buying presents/things for Christmas? I admit I don't usually do this, but this year I plan on being done with all the shopping ahead of time. I want to know how this feels like. Smiley

I am looking for ideas and any input will be appreciated. So far, the only things that came to my mind are perfumed candle, sweater and scarf. They are all common stuff, I know... I need to buy presents for all ages so children or elders are included in my shopping plans. Among the things I will buy I will have to buy things for my fiancee's siblings and parents, so those will need to be very well considered. Smiley

I'm open for suggestions.

Hehehe! Smiley There was a recent thread over at HostingDiscussion.com about Christmas related spending, so you're not the only one who already has the Christmas in mind. Smiley

Frankly, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to presents, mainly because I'm not easily attacted by merchandise. I don't have many "wants" (as opposed to my better half), so for me it usually comes down to whether I need the thing or not. When shopping I ask myself the same question: does he/she need this?

I can tell you something though: It's very hard to find presents when the criterion you use is "Is this needed?" Grin

I find that an easy way out with ladies is to buy them some cosmetics, perfumes and the like. With the guys some type of alcoholic beverage can do the job, provided that they have the necessary age. (No, one beer doesn't do it. Tongue)

A cool pen, a watch, can also make nice presents. Giving toys for young adults can be sometimes a funny farse, yet a memorable present at the same time.

Objects that are generally thought to be "souvenirs" can presents as well. Clothes and jewellery (God forbid you tell my girldfriend I mentioned this Grin) should be good as well.

Thank you! I guess that the perfume will be kept as a plan B (it always is Smiley ). For some people, especially women, it is  something considered to be personal (to mark your personality) and people can be very picky when it comes to it. But it is always good in emergency cases. Smiley

The pen is something I haven't thought of... hmm... it could be a solution.

I tried a very basic search on Google for "gift ideas" and these websites were at the top of the results (or thereabouts):

http://www.findgift.com/
http://www.surprise.com/

I figure that browsing them could give/spark a few good gifts ideas. Smiley

I visited www.surprise.com and another website right before I started the thread, I will now browse through the other one you recommended. Who knows, just like you said, maybe I see something that gives me more ideas.

Thanks for the links.
